Chinese Cupping Therapy
Is a treatment whereby a partial vacuum is created in cups placed on the skin. This draws up the underlying tissues. The skin and muscle inside the cup is suctioned in such a way that releases toxins and moves Qi and blood. When the cup is left in place on the skin for a few minutes, blood stasis is formed and localized healing takes place.
The theory behind cupping is to transfer energy from areas of high concentration to areas of low concentration and restart energy flow along the meridians.
Cupping creates a series of blood-infused raised sections on a patient’s skin which counteracts the current state of stagnation and removes obstruction to energy and blood flows.
By creating suction, Chinese Cupping is used to:
- DRAIN EXCESS FLUID AND TOXINS
- LOOSEN ADHESIONS AND LIFT CONNECTIVE TISSUE
- BRING BLOOD FLOW TO STAGNANT SKIN AND MUSCLES
- STIMULATE THE PERIPHERAL NERVOUS SYSTEM
- DE-ACTIVATE TRIGGER POINTS IN THE BODY
Chinese Cupping Effects on Muscles:
Cupping expands blood vessels in the muscles and brings fresh blood to the area, improving circulation. Most commonly used by this clinic on Trigger Points that refer pain to other parts of the body, muscles in back, neck, shoulder and other musculoskeletal pain.
Effects on Joints:
Chronic joint rheumatism is one of the conditions for which ‘chinese cupping therapy’ is effective. When the condition is mild, an almost complete cure is possible and this results from the better flow of blood within the joint, the activity and secretion of synovial fluids. In the case of muscular spasms around the joints, they can be removed.
Chinese Cupping Therapy also has many healing qualities including Digestive Organs, Purification of Blood and much more.
